Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel, and jazz into his signature style. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician playing and singing at the local church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls, the theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for her daily shows at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
